Simplifying Clairaudience: How to listen and recognize your intuitive Hearing

We last talked about clairvoyance, a common clair that is the first many learn about. Now we’ll talk about clairaudience.

Remember that you can practice and have any of the ‘clairs’ you want.

Some of the skills might require more practice than others, some may be as natural as breathing and some may need training but yes, you have access to all the abilities.

Now let’s talk about clairaudience. Or “clear hearing”.

This is the ability to hear information or voices or thoughts in your mind that are intuitively channeled either from your higher self, your body, guides, or others.

When going about my day and thinking to myself, I hear my own voice in my head. When I channel information with clairaudience, the voices or information don’t sound that much different to me. What differs is that I have a knowing it isn’t my voice but also that the voice has a different subtle tone or cadence or texture. A different energy personality for example.

Animals' voices may vary in sound to me (often matching their personality) but it’s common that the voices sound similar to my own and what’s different is actually their energy and the texture of their energy sound. There’s emotion felt in their voices that I can hear. Their energy takes on a sound to my ears and this meshes with my own inner voice and makes it just subtly different.

People ask me if animals have accents and what I experience is that they have sassy attitudes that can be picked up in their sound, they can have deeper tones and higher sounds but they are mixed with my own inner voice so to me it would sound like my own voice trying to do character voice work!

You know how you recognize someone’s voices in animated movies and they shifted their voice a bit yet it’s still recognizable? That’s probably the best way for me to describe what I personally hear.

The first time I heard and noticed a distinctly different voice or tone in my head it wasn’t like a booming voice from Sky Daddy, deep and loud in my ears. Instead, it was firm and it didn’t feel like me or my own voice yet sounded like my voice was recorded and being played back for me. It was different enough for me to take notice and understand that it was someone else’s voice.

I also knew because I didn’t make that thought. I wouldn’t have thought that thought and so I knew I was not its origin.

When it first happens, it can be a little freaky! When I first heard my dragons voices (which are distinctly different sounding, not of this world lets say) I heard my own inner voice respond, “Holy shit fuck!” at how different and separate it was from me. When I heard their song I almost melted at the power of their voices! When I eventually heard Dragon light language in my mind the first time and was being taught to replicate their sounds my mind was blown. To be able to hear their beautiful sounds and tones but not being able to adequately physically replicate them will always make me a bit sad.

Clairaudience is unique to everyone and your experiences will vary but it’s such a cool intuitive skill.

Think of being able to hear the voice of a passed on loved one once again or to finally be able to hear from your passed on pets in their own words that they are safe and happy.

Strengthening your clairaudience skills is a beautiful goal to work towards and it is incredibly possible for you no matter where you start!

Let me try to make it simple, try this exercise:

Get calm and relaxed. Steady your breathing and focus your mind’s eye on what you hear around you and what you hear in your head.

You might have a lot of noise or thoughts that are taking up space in your mind but try to just set those aside. Sometimes thinking, “I ask the logical mind to step aside for the moment and for my intuition to take its place.” along with the intention can be a helpful start.

Listen first to your inner voice. It may ramble and it may flip between things but then move to intentionally saying random words in your head. Notice how your inner voice feels and sounds to you. This is what we can compare the intuitive voice to and that allows you to see the subtle difference between your logical mind and the intuitive information that you are channeling.

Since intuition is fast and can be subtle, start with asking your body some simple questions. Listen to the answer in your mind, remember it may sound like your own inner voice, that’s ok, look for subtle differences.

“Does my body need anything right now?” (Listen for a yes or no)

“What do I need in order to sink in further to my clairaudience?” (What’s the first thing that comes to mind? That you hear in your head?)

Continue to ask yourself questions and listen for what your inner voice says. There’s a different texture to the voice and sound, there’s a different feeling to the voice that you intuitively hear.

Practice this until you feel the difference between your inner voice and your intuitive voice. If you’re not confident in the difference, maybe try jumping into asking your guides some questions and practicing by hearing their texture and tones of voice in your mind. They might differ more for you in sound.

When you connect with your intuition or to your spiritual guides for information, it may be helpful to ask them to share their voice with you or to share words with you.

“Let me experience your energy through sound.”

“My guides, tell me what isn’t serving me right now.”

“Tell me the best way to solve this challenge.”

It might feel like your own ideas pop up but that’s ok! That could also be an intuitive idea. (Sometimes I definitely know when it’s my intuition because when I ask a question and get the answer I am not a big fan of I know I didn’t choose it for myself lol)

Really allow yourself to be open to hearing what your energy has to say.

Remember, it may seem as if you’re imagining something but often our intuition is immediate and so if you hear something in your mind, try to trust and release doubt. See what happens!

Finally PRACTICE!

Eventually you’ll be able to discern the difference between your own inner thoughts and other’s.
