medical intuition

Story time!

If you have ever experienced vertigo you might understand a bit about what my man just went through.

I haven’t ever had vertigo but he described it as, “Remember in college when you’d get drunk and the room would be spinning? Yeah, it’s that but without the buzz.”

We don’t drink anymore but we can both remember back to the wildest of times where the world had indeed spun.

I distinctly remember when I was in Scotland returning from the pub with friends, singing the ‘500 miles’ song horribly as we entered the yard of the castle we were staying at and –

Let’s move on :)

He was experiencing such bad vertigo that he couldn’t go to work for days, couldn’t drive, couldn’t even keep food down, he was so nauseous from being dizzy. He had pain in his head and jaw, and his ears hurt.

First thing I was drawn to do (thank you intuition) is candle his ears.

There are mixed opinions on ear candling. I am not surprised that there are mixed opinions. I think you can’t knock it till you try it. I personally think it’s the only effective way for me to feel relief in my ears if they are bugging me (esp. If I get sick or have an ear infection) and my body really likes the support.

I also have great success with Garlic Mullein oil in the ears as a wax softener and a natural remedy.

My experience has been awesome with them and with my best friend trained in them we’ve candled our ears safely many times.

I am not giving medical advice and I am not saying that ear candling cures anything. I am simply sharing that I have felt great relief after turning to them for help.

So I candled his ears and it helped. I also was pulled to do some pressure points and lymphatic work on his head which helped too!

I then read his energy and after tuning into him I saw very clearly that he had green goo sitting around his head and face. Like he had congestion of the sinuses and ears. Interesting.

This isn’t the first time I have used my “medical intuition”. Those of you who have had sessions with me have probably observed me use it with your pets. I do not diagnose and will not give medical advice as I am not a medical professional but I can pinpoint pain and physical sensations of your pets so that you can use that information with a vet or in another way. Their bodies will also suggest to me certain things that will help support their wellness.

I use this type of intuition a lot with my pets and will also utilize muscle testing when it comes to their health and my own.

However when it comes to infections, I don’t want to mess around (I think a blend of holistic and western medicine is nice) so I told him that a doctor visit would be ideal to rule out a sinus or ear infection. Both being said to sometimes cause symptoms of vertigo.

After day four of vertigo, he went.

That doctor failed him.

Didn’t check his ears, didn’t ask questions, didn’t listen to him. Didn’t even rule out (or mention) a possible infection which was the reason for the visit. This doctor prescribed him PT for an Epsley maneuver to help with ear crystals.

Later that same day we went to his regular chiro appt and he told them about the vertigo and what the doctor said.

They did the Epsley maneuver on him and showed us what to do if we wanted to repeat it later if needed. It didn’t help.

The next couple of times didn’t help.

This was all during the July 4th weekend where we had a couple family events to go to.

Let’s just say that boats and vertigo don’t mix.

He was so wobbly. Like sooo wobbly.

At this point I was still reluctantly humoring the first doctor's ear crystal idea but I was furious that there was no infection ruled out or even talked about. It would not have been good for him to have had an infection this whole time and have it develop further.

My anger was fierce. I think it was so fierce because my intuition was screaming at me and I felt in my gut that he needed to see another doctor. My intuition never lies.

I reminded him of what I saw in his energy, the fact that the ear candles helped and that we still didn’t have other things ruled out.

He understandably was so frustrated and truly wasn’t himself. His whole routine was messed up (behind on work as he’s training in four new people, his gym routine shot to shreds, literally just not being able to go for a walk), relying on others to drive him places, not being able to work.

He was game to see another doctor. The ear crystal idea thrown to the wind.

Thankfully (and I know this, I was still holding frustration over the last one) there are good doctors out there! The one we saw was very kind and helpful, asked many questions, did many tests to rule out certain things, and thank goodness but he actually checked his ears!!

And surprise surprise (and in line with what my gut was saying) his ears were not happy. The doctor also suspected that he had a double whammy and wanted to treat him for a sinus infection too.

It was a quick in and out (not counting the 1.5 hour wait in the lobby), get his prescription to kill off both ear and sinus infection, obviously stop for what we call fancy drinks 💅(Zevia or Oli Pop lol), and go home.

With a more clear and thorough exam and over a busy and tough week of dizziness, we had a new path forward.

He has since felt better and better. He’ll tell me each day “75% 80% 87%” and the vertigo reduced enough for him to go to work.

However, he was still feeling extreme pressure in his ears and his jaw so I offered to candle his ears again.

This time I had my Mullein Garlic oil with me and 👏It 👏Did 👏It’s 👏Job

Let’s just say that he definitely had ear infections and he definitely had compaction. No doubt leading to his vertigo and jaw pain.

He now tells me he’s at 97% lol

Now it’s just making sure to finish the antibiotics and make sure he is eating for wellness to help his body through it.

There are times where our intuition says “here’s what’s going on” and we can choose to trust it or doubt it.

I am so glad I trusted what I saw during his energy scan and pushed for him to get a second opinion. I’m glad my intuition showed me what help his body was asking for and I’m so grateful to him for trusting me and my Knowing.

There’s that saying, “A woman’s intuition is never wrong.”

Trust yourself, trust your body, trust that you are capable!
